You know what one of the best parts about living in today’s information/media-saturated world is? Great design is everywhere. Web development, furniture, hell, even flip-flops…if you look for it, you’ll find it.
Here are our BRINK design picks of the week:
Top: “Bobine” iPhone Dock by [FUSE]chicken
Designed by the uniquely named [FUSE]chicken, the “Bobine” iPhone dock is Kickstarter success. It’s as brilliantly simple as it gets: a metallic, fully-adjustable cord to mount your little device on, that won’t budge or fall from the weight. It has better uses than making your iPhone look like a cobra’s head, but it does that too.
Bottom Left: Ink Calendar by Oscar Diaz
Capitalizing on the forces of capillary action, this by London-based artist Oscar Diaz calendar slowly fills itself up with colored ink as time passes. Whether or not you see it as an existential metaphor, or just a neat lookin’ art project, you can’t deny the design.
Bottom Right: Rope Lamps by Christian Haas
In another taste of European brilliance, Christian Haas designed these lamps formed out of simple ropes and illuminated by the warm glow of LEDs. Set into intricate patterns, they would make an oddly beautiful addition to any room.
